DC Circuits:- Unit:- 1
A DC Circuit (Direct Current Circuit) in Basic Electrical Engineering refers to an electrical circuit that operates with direct current, where the flow of electric charge is unidirectional. These circuits consist of components like resistors, capacitors, inductors, and power sources such as batteries, which provide a constant voltage or current. In DC circuits, the current flows steadily in one direction, and the voltage across each component is constant over time. DC circuits are fundamental in various applications, including powering electronic devices, batteries, and automotive systems, and are essential for understanding the principles of electrical and electronic engineering.

AC Circuits:- Unit:- 2
In Basic Electrical Engineering (BEE), AC circuits refer to electrical circuits in which the current alternates its direction periodically. Unlike direct current (DC) circuits where the current flows in a single direction, AC circuits have current that reverses direction at regular intervals, typically in a sinusoidal waveform. The most common example of an AC circuit is the standard power supply in homes and industries, which operates at a frequency of 50 or 60 Hz, depending on the region.

Transformers:- Unit:- 3
In Basic Electrical Engineering, a transformer is an electrical device used to transfer electrical energy between two or more circuits through electromagnetic induction. It consists of two or more coils (windings) wrapped around a common magnetic core. When an alternating current (AC) flows through the primary winding, it creates a magnetic field that induces a voltage in the secondary winding. This process allows for the increase or decrease of voltage levels between the circuits, enabling efficient power transmission and distribution.

Electrical Machines:- Unit:- 4
Electrical machines are devices that convert electrical energy into mechanical energy, mechanical energy into electrical energy, or alter electrical energy from one form to another. These machines are fundamental in basic electrical engineering and include motors, generators, and transformers, each playing a crucial role in the generation, transmission, and utilization of electrical power.

Electrical Installations:- Unit:- 5
Electrical installations refer to the setup and arrangement of electrical systems and components within a building or facility. This includes wiring, circuits, outlets, and safety devices designed to provide electrical power and ensure safe and efficient operation. Proper electrical installations comply with regulatory standards and are crucial for the reliable functioning of electrical systems.
